После нескольких разрушений и восстановлений памятник приобрёл нынешний облик в 1928 году. Он окружён двойным рядом рвов и мощными каменными стенами — зрелище, достойное отдельного восхищения ещё до входа внутрь. Внутри башни-музея хранится свыше 10 000 предметов эпохи Тоётоми: самурайские доспехи, оружие, личные вещи Хидэёси.
