Today, we will take you to Takachiho and Mount Aso, including 4-5 attractions/experiences: from a boat ride in Takachiho Gorge, the Takachiho Railway, Kusasenri, and the Mount Aso crater, to the special itinerary of Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine. The itinerary is rich and offers excellent value for money! ⚠️On the third Thursday of every month, due to the Takachiho Railway being closed, the itinerary will be changed to Takachiho Gorge + Takachiho Boat Ride + Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine + Kusasenri + Aso Volcano Square. First Stop: Takachiho Gorge Boat Ride Drift in a small boat between the strange rock cliffs on both banks, looking up at the Manai Waterfall cascading from above, its spray falling directly into the clear stream. Being there is like stepping into a secret realm of Japanese mythology, both magnificent and romantic. Second Stop: Takachiho Railway Board the nostalgic sightseeing train, traveling on the old railway bridge, passing through tunnels and viaducts, overlooking the magnificent Takachiho Valley. The moment you feel the wind, you can't help but want to take out your camera and capture a postcard unique to your journey. Third Stop: Kusasenri Endless grasslands stretch at the foot of Mount Aso, with blue skies, white clouds, and green grass reflecting each other, and cows and horses leisurely grazing, creating a picturesque scene. This is the best place to feel the natural atmosphere of Aso, refreshing and invigorating. Fourth Stop: Mount Aso Crater Come to one of the world's still active volcanoes, and observe the churning volcanic smoke and the huge crater up close. If the volcano is closed, we will visit Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine or Aso Shrine instead. Special Itinerary: Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine (Limited Route) From December 1st to February 28th, visit Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, a mysterious shrine known as the "entrance to another world." Stone steps are covered with moss on both sides, and the approach is filled with a tranquil atmosphere, as if traversing a hidden realm through time. The cinematic scenery is an excellent place for photography and checking in. The full-day itinerary covers natural wonders and cultural secrets. Whether it's the beauty of Takachiho Gorge, the vastness of Kusasenri, or the grandeur of Mount Aso, you will be filled with memories.
