Description

Kamikochi, the Hometown of the Gods Kamikochi, located in the Northern Alps where Nagano and Gifu Prefectures meet, is known as the "Hometown of the Gods" and is one of Japan's most representative mountain resort areas. It is famous for the crystal-clear Azusa River, the symbolic landmark "Kappa Bridge," and the magnificent views of the Hotaka mountain range and Mount Yake. The park is approximately 1,500 meters above sea level and has a pleasantly cool climate. The summer is a popular summer resort, and in the fall, you can enjoy colorful autumn leaves and golden grassland scenery. The entire Kamikochi area is subject to strict natural protection, preserving primeval forests, wetlands, and alpine streams. The scenery is pure, as if stepping into a breathing landscape painting. Shin-Hotaka Ropeway Located in Gifu Prefecture's Okuhida Onsen Village, it is an important sightseeing ropeway route to the Northern Alps and one of the few spots in Japan where you can directly reach a high-mountain observation deck via two ropeways. The second section is Japan's only double-decker ropeway, which in itself is a major attraction. By taking the ropeway, you can easily reach Nishi-Hotakaguchi Station, which is approximately 2,156 meters above sea level. From the 360-degree observation deck, you can admire the magnificent peaks such as the Hotaka mountain range and Mount Yari. You can also experience the stunning alpine scenery without any mountain climbing equipment. It has different scenery in each season and is a classic must-visit spot when visiting Hida and the Northern Alps area.
