Description
Museum of World Religions The establishment of the Museum of World Religions provides people with an opportunity to understand various religions, allowing everyone to choose their own spiritual beliefs in life. It fosters free dialogue between religions, eliminating religious disputes and conflicts. Based on this reason, Master Hsin Tao believed that if the Vow Land Monastery were to establish a Buddhist museum or build a large temple, it might provide spiritual sustenance for local Buddhists, which would be welcomed by believers, and the task of raising funds to build the museum would be easily accomplished. However, it would fail to achieve the aforementioned grand goals. Conversely, introducing religious knowledge through a modern museum that disseminates knowledge using leisure and entertainment methods may be an irreplaceable and optimal solution. Thus, after consulting various parties and visiting related theme museums and institutions around the world, and after careful consideration, the concept and mission of an unprecedented Museum of World Religions, emphasizing internationality and encompassing all world religions, took shape. Special Exhibition "Light in All Things": In 2022, we stepped into the cycle of life and death, day and night, and recognized the bonds of human life. In 2023, we entered the mountains, seas, and skies to find our place. This year, we will transform into nothingness, integrate into the endless natural cycle of the uninhabited, pursue light, feel light, become light, and attain the redemption of light. The beginning of creation lies within, flowing and existing in all things, It is light, it is spirituality. Permanent Exhibition: The permanent exhibitions mainly focus on the eight major world religions: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, and Shinto, as well as ancient religions such as Egyptian and Mayan. The Taiwan Religion Area showcases the beliefs of Taiwanese people, and the rotating exhibition area displays other beliefs and religious traditional objects. Visitors will see the similarities and differences between these religions in their beliefs and learn about the beliefs and history of these religions.
